A highly valued, highly personal approach
Across all our divisions; ATMs, Commercial Foreign Exchange, Consumer Finances, Card Services, Banking (Bonds) Consumer Finance, we know that our customers value our personal, fair and long-term approach in an industry faced with constant and rapid change.
Raphaels Bank is the second oldest independent bank in the UK. It was founded in 1787 by Raphael Raphael, a young Dutch merchant who moved from Amsterdam to London. The bank prospered during the Napoleonic Wars and successive generations of Raphaels joined the family banking business, which diversified into stock exchange dealing, bullion broking and was a refiner of gold, raised loans for European Governments and handled large transactions in American Railway Stocks.
The Raphael family sold the bank in 1983 and in 2004 it was acquired by Lenlyn Holdings plc, who is the parent company of ICE (International Currency Exchange), a world leader in retail foreign exchange.
