SMEs urged to trade with foreign nations
The UK's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been urged by Prime Minister David Cameron to export more goods and services to foreign nations.
Back to news indexThe PM made the call after announcing a new £95 million financial package to support the country's small business sector.
The money, which will be provided by the Regional Growth Fund, will be made available to firms which have struggled in recent times to gain commercial loans from banks.
Speaking to an audience of UK business leaders, Mr Cameron stated: "We need more of you to get out of the comfort zone and sell to the world."
As many as 4,000 jobs could be created with the help of the new SME funding allocation, the Government believes. New investment worth £500 million might also be unlocked as a result of the initiative.
