Raphaels Bank is a leading player in the emerging European pre-paid card market. We hold over £90m of pre-paid clients' funds and operate more than 2,000,000 live cards, across 70 pre-paid programmes managed by 14 partners.

Through our principal memberships of both MasterCard and Visa, we offer opportunities to companies that wish to launch pre-paid card programmes in the UK and other European countries.

As a UK bank that is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority, we have permission under our banking license to issue e-money. We have passported our right to provide cross-border financial services to all 27 countries within the European Union.

We currently operate live MasterCard programmes in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Holland and France, and Visa programmes in the UK, France and Ireland with licenses in Spain and Hungary.

How can we help your company?

Our current range of card products includes travel cards, gift cards, corporate benefits cards, cards for the disbursement and distribution of commissions, insurance claim pay-out cards, general purpose cards, virtual cards, money transfer and cards for government benefits.

We operate our card programmes in partnership with card processing specialists such as FIS (incorporating Metavante and Wildcard), TSYS, IPS, M2 Global and StoreFinancial, and are always willing to look at extending our processing partner base.

As a bank sponsor issuing pre-paid cards in the market, hold client funds (in ring-fenced trust accounts), regulatory overview and compliance, access to card schemes, and associated settlement and reconciliation.

Raphaels Bank is a niche operator in the pre-paid market. We specialise in working with clients with complex requirements, particularly international (within the EU) or other demands.
